Die Installation ist eine Hommage an die Liebe. Symbolisiert durch eine Wolke, die wir dort oben am Himmel sehen können. Sobald wir näher kommen, löst sie sich auf und scheint nicht zu existieren. Und doch ist sie da. Wir können sie spüren.

Berlin: die Stadt der Singles. Mehr als eine Million Menschen sind alleinstehend, und etwa jeder Dritte ist aktiv auf Partnersuche. Viele nutzen Dating-Apps und finden sich häufig in sogenannten „Situationships“ wieder – unverbindlichen Beziehungen ohne klare Absprachen. Man möchte sich nicht festlegen, denn es könnte ja immer noch jemand Besseres kommen. Doch niemand gibt das offen zu. Ein Teufelskreis.
Das Angebot ist zu groß, die Dates oft zu oberflächlich. Und kaum jemand ist bereit sich zu öffnen und seinen Teil dazu beizutragen.

Diese Installation soll daran erinnern, dass wir überall um uns herum bereits Liebe haben. Freundschaften, Partnerschaften, Tierliebe, Familie, ein kurzes Gespräch mit der Kassiererin. Es geht nicht im Leben darum Liebe im außen zu suchen, sondern Liebe ist ein Gefühl, dass in uns existiert und wir nur das Geschenk bekommen können, Menschen in unseren Leben zu haben, die bei uns dieses Gefühl auslösen können. Man kann uns dieses Gefühl nicht nehmen. Es steckt bereits in uns.
Das hier ist eine Aufmunterung sich nicht zu verschließen und Liebe, in jeglischer Form, in dein Leben zu lassen. Vor allem in einer Stadt wie Berlin. Manchmal fängt es bei einen kleinen Lächeln auf der Straße an …

As soon as we get closer, it dissolves and seems not to exist. And yet it is there. We can feel it.

Berlin: the city of singles. More than 
one million people are single, and around one in three is actively looking for a partner. Many use dating apps and often find themselves in so-called “situationships” - non-binding relationships without clear agreements. People don‘t want to commit, because someone better could always come along. But no one admits this openly. It‘s a vicious circle. There‘s too much on offer, the dates are often too superficial. And hardly anyone is prepared to open up and do their bit.

This installation is a reminder that we already have love all around us. Friendships, partnerships, love of animals, family, a quick chat with the cashier. Life is not about looking for love on the outside, but love is a feeling that exists within us and we can only receive the gift of having people in our lives who can trigger this feeling in us. This feeling cannot be taken away from us. It is already inside us.

This is an encouragement not to close yourself 
off and to let love, in any form, into your life. Especially in a city like Berlin. Sometimes it starts with a little smile on the street ...
